Study A-Level in Photography at UK College
This programme is for students who wish to explore Fine Art Photography. Over two years, you will study and analyse the work of other artists and use this to inspire and influence your own practice. You will learn about the theory of photography and have many opportunities to produce work on location, in the studio, darkroom and digital darkroom.
This creative course will enable you to develop your imaginative and creative powers, analytical, documenting, research and writing skills. This course is challenging and fast-paced and involves a lot of self-directed study, including assignments and research to do outside of lecture time.
Enhance your artistic skills
This course is for you if you are passionate about photography and want to be challenged. Ideally, you will have studied arts or photography before and be able to demonstrate through a portfolio of work that you are articulate and can express ideas clearly.
The Photography A-level will enhance your skills in planning and researching to create successful images, and will enable you to meet and network with fellow artists. You will work with film and digital cameras, learn to develop films and work in the studio, and more.
Work and studies in great facilities
Photography students have access to excellent facilities at Pembrokeshire College, including a purpose-built darkroom and a studio. We recommend students bring their own camera and tripod as well as 35mm black and white film, as the course utilises a variety of formats and you will explore all aspects of photography.
After completing your A-level, you may progress onto university education for a degree in Arts or Photography. You will also be able to put your skills into practice by building your portfolio or take your qualifications into the workplace. You could combine Photography with two or more of the traditional subjects such as English, History or a Modern language to further enhance your chances of getting into a top UK University.
